We have extended No Practice Dates from our initial 2025-2026 calendar to reflect feedback received in the mid-season survey. We will have a once per month additional practice (for Elite teams) on a Sunday to allow us to provide more days off in conjunction with the school calendar.
The gym owners from across Alberta met in the spring to discuss the 'Prep Plus' division that was offered by some gyms and competitions this season and to move forward on a united front. Moving forward, more gyms will be utilizing the Novice division and this is now the division that is intended for beginners, with 'Prep' being a true stepping stone between Novice and Elite, along with being a more realistic long-term option for families looking for a lower travel option, while still advancing their cheer skills each season. Prep teams will now be practicing twice per week from Sept-March, with Novice continuing with a once per week practice schedule.
There will be no end of season showcase for Season 9. Take Flight will mark the end of the season for our Novice and Prep teams, and the Allstar World Championship will mark the end of the season for our Elite teams.
